Well, there were those crystal towers... I'm still not entirely certain what was going on with them, but they rose up around the same time as that annual breakdown of the rules. You know what I mean, right, when everything goes crazy and those of us who had powers get them back?

And those of us who aren't human get to be not human again... The point is that yes, something happened, but it all seemed to kind of happen at the same time and it's something that happens on almost a schedule, or at least part of it was.
